Technical Regulation Scope

The Technical Regulation for Machinery Safety – Part 2: Mobile Machinery and Heavy-Duty Equipment, set by the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO), ensures the safety and quality of mobile machinery and heavy-duty equipment in the Saudi market.

This regulation covers various types of mobile machinery and heavy-duty equipment's, including:- Earth Moving Machinery and Equipment

  • Agricultural machinery and equipment

  • Drilling Machinery and Equipment

  • Road construction machinery

  • Paving and milling machinery

Certification Requirements

The importer is required to obtain SABER Product Certification. SABER certification must be issued by a SASO-notified Certification Body, such as XDS Solutions.

Assessment requirements:

  • Test reports issued by an accredited laboratory

Labelling Requirements for Machinery (Part 2): Mobile/Heavy Machinery

General

  • Label firmly attached and not easily removable
  • No misleading wording, prohibited phrases, or offensive content
  • All the information contained in the labels shall be correct and proven

Language

  • Language must be in Arabic (or Arabic & English)

Identification

  • Product description/name
  • Model name/number
  • Trademark/brand or manufacturer’s name
  • Serial number

Country of Origin

  • In the format of "Made in [Country]"

Production Data

  • Year of manufacture

Ratings

  • Electrical, hydraulic, or mechanical data where applicable

Safety symbols

  • As per ISO 7010 or equivalent international standards

Warnings/Instructions

  • Any warnings/instructions for use
