Testing Requirements for Simple Pressure Vessels
Product Classification
- Type 3 Assessment: Applies to all simple pressure vessels whose maximum permissible operating pressure multiplied by the capacity (PSxV) of the vessel is greater than 50 bars liter. An audit of the manufacturing facility is usually required.
- Type 1a Assessment: Applicable to all Simple pressure vessels whose maximum permissible operating pressure multiplied by the capacity (PSxV) of the vessel is less than or equal to 50 bars liter, requiring standard documentation for certification.
