Requirements for Importing Telecoms Devices into Saudi Arabia
Technical Regulation Scope
The Technical Regulation for Telecommunications Devices, set by the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO), ensures the safety and quality of such products and materials in the Saudi market.
This technical regulation applies to all telecoms products imported or manufactured for the Saudi Arabian market.
Certification Requirements
The importer is required to obtain SABER Product Certification. SABER certification must be issued by a SASO-notified Certification Body, such as XDS Solutions.
Assessment requirements:
Test reports issued by an accredited laboratory
Labelling Requirements for Telecommunications Devices
General
- Label firmly attached and not easily removable
- No misleading wording, prohibited phrases, or offensive content
- All the information contained in the labels shall be correct and proven
Language
- Language must be in Arabic (or Arabic & English)
Identification
- Product description/name
- Model name/number
- Trademark/brand or manufacturer’s name
Manufacturer Details
- Manufacturer name and address
Country of Origin
- In the format of "Made in [Country]"
Ratings
- Electrical ratings including voltage, frequency, class etc.
Standard
- Any additional markings required as per the applicable product standard(s)
Warnings/Instructions
- Any warnings/instructions for use (if applicable)
